Great Chinese storyteller: Charlie Chin
Charlie Chin is a professional storyteller out of the San Francisco area.  He dresses as, and tells his stories, in the character of a Chinese scholar.  I took a workshop with him and he told us it was common for scholars who did not pass exams and did not get posts to go around to Inns and tell stories to eek out a living since they were so well versed in the classics.  He uses a fan as part of his traditional story telling style and is amazing.  He has worked extensively with the Chinese American communities in both New York City and San Francisco in his "civilian" life.  I highly recommend him to any group (particularly the Asian Studies groups) as a featured speaker and performer.
