Filial piety as law in China today (recent NY Times)

Two articles printed in the NY Times in the past week discuss China's current (and new) laws requiring   that adult children fulfill certain responsibilities towards their elderly parents. One is a news article, the other an opinion piece; the latter is at a fairly accessible reading level for younger secondary-age students.
